Fur Chic

I

Faux Fur Coat Zara  Similar  / Black Swing Dress  Pretty Little Thing  /  Thigh High Boots  Public Desire

I hate the winter, I view winter as it is projected in the Game of Thrones, but as soon as a saw this coat it was a must have. I purchased a size up and decided on a subtle cream and brown combination (there was three different colours to choose from) teamed with this all black ensemble the coat becomes focal. The boots and dress are also some new found favourites and styled together is a perfect combination for a chic casual look.

After a hard day at work my number one priority is always take the day off my face. As many of you know I have been blessed with oily skin which has its pro and cons. But does mean I am more  to break outs and large pores. Fortunately over the past year my skin has progressively got better and my general make routine has changed and foundations are now no longer my go to (please let me know if you would like an updated make up routine) and concealers are my new best friends.

If you suffer from combination to oily skin like mine I would advise you have a little read through my current skin care steps.....enjoy reading my lovelies.

STEP 1 Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel With Murala Oil
This triple textured cleansing gel in formulated to gentle break does makeup particles, whilst melting away impurities and excess oil. Its safe enough to use around your delicate eye area. With gentle pressure and using your fingers in a fast circular motion the water based product transforms into a oil and when washed of using lukewarm water or a muslin cloth turns into cleansing milk removes all trace of dirt and leaving you skin feeling moisturised and clean.

STEP 2 Peter Thomas Roth Anti-Aging Glycolic Acid Cleansing Gel
This product uses commercial resurfacing action with a lower percentage then clinical glycolic acid it can be used without medical assistance. Designed to clarify and rejuvenate this cleansing gel contains glycolic and salicylic acid, white oak bark, lemon, lime linden, grapefruit and extracts of peach. It is oil-free and suitable for all skin types except sensitive or eczema prone.

STEP 3 Caudalie Micellar Cleansing Water
This is a staple product in my skin care routine. As I am unable to use cleansing wipes due to the alcohol content. I have reverted for a natural based product

With a combination of micelles , small particles of surfactants, which trap skin impurities such as excess sebum, pollution and makeup residue. It effectively  cleanse the leaving a silky smooth texture. With 0% parabens, phenoxyethanol., phthalates, mineral oils, sodium laureth sulphate and animal ingredients. This is  must have cleansing tonic for blemished prone skin.

STEP 4 Kiehl's Avocado Eye Cream
This concentrated and hydrating eye cream soothes puffy eyes and moisturises the delicate eye area. Packed with vitamins and fatty acids it gently provides intense eye treatment to help smooth out wrinkles. This product has been ophthalmologist and dermatologist tested.

STEP 5 VMV Hypoallergenics Hydra Balance Smart Moisturiser
Free from the seven common allergens this product moisturises without adding shine or clogging pores. The formula is enriched with virgin coconut oil that nurtures the skin with fatty acids and provides intense hydration. This product also contains SPF 15 to help your skin fight UV damage and premature skin damage.

#My Charlotte Tilbury and Mac Lipstick Must Haves

Love Bite by Charlotte Tilbury // Bond Girl by Charlotte Tilbury // MAC Persistence // MAC

So Autumn is officially here and I decided to go on a lipstick splurge. For the last couple of weeks I had been eyeing up Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution and K.I.S.S.I.N.G Collection after reading  amazing reviews.  So I popped down to Selfridges and tried on some testers. Initially I purchased Bond Girl but the amazing make up advisor suggested I tried their new K.I.S.S.I.N.G range in the colour Love Bite. I instantly fell in love and made an imminent return a few days later to purchase this bad boy. With 10 shades for all skin types and packed with 'Lipstick Tree'- an anti oxidant which naturally protects lips from UV rays, Charlotte Tilbury lipstick are a make-up geeks must have.

MAC finally released some new Matte Lipstick-with Stone being and instant sell out I was drawn to Persistence and Naturally Transformed. Blended together or used on their own (I tend to use Naturally Transformed on top of more pigmented yellow or brown shades for that nude look) I am in love with them both. Click on the links to go direct to the brands website.

Late Summer/Autumn Accessories

Alternatives
Dress by Rare for Topshop // Messanger Bag Zara // Gold Rings H&M

So autumn has arrived and the summer to autumn /winter 15 transition begins. As I rarely advise on the accessories I thought.....why not start!

During holiday we arranged to go an amazing restaurant in the town of Lagos.
I wore a cream and black dress for Topshop sale and decided to add some details. The full outfit can be seen on my Instagram page Petrinajadex.

As I rarely wear rings I decided to give it ago. I purchased these from H&M. which may I point out has a massive selection of gold and silver accessories. Cheaply priced and durable H&M has always been my accessory go to. Paired with my trusty black and white messanger crocodile effect bag, my outfit was complete.

Transitioning this late summer look into an autumn look could be as simple. A pair of black high waisted skinny jeans, an on trend white shirt a large oversized cardigan or black coat and a pair of Chelseas' would compliment any autumn look. Paired with my late summer accessories and an oversized hat would mirror a near prefect Parisian look.

Autumn Ready

Green Bomber Jacket Primark // Black Body-Con Dress Primark // Black Lace up Ego Official

So autumn has arrived (such a shame) the wardrobe re-vamp has began.
Scanning through my rail for summer clothes which will be entering their hibernation period I found this amazing LBD from none other then Primark.

As I was going on for a quality girls only night out in Kensington I decided it was high time this dress be broken into. With a bodycon like texture it accentuated my curves and kept in my pouch. Well structured I was surprised at the quality. Under £15 this buy was a definite bargain.

As for the olive bomber, this was also purchased from Primark Menswear's department. And was a fitting combination to finish of this look.

The Maxi

Karen Cutaway Thigh Split Maxi Dress in stone Boohoo

Hello it has been a long time. My schedule has been crazy and although I have managed to attain a lot of content I was unable to blog- as there were not enough hour in my day.

So to cut along story short I went on holiday! Take a look at my instagram page petrinajadei for any holiday styles you may or may not incorporate for future holidays.

So this was all about a lot of flesh. I wore the dress to a pool party held at our resort. The material was amazingly light weight and was not clinging to my skin in the Portuguese heat. As I had no intention of wetting my feet. In all it was a lovely family evening and I cannot wait until out next adventure.

Until then obrigada Portugal.

The Cut

Jumper Playboy for Primark// Ripped Jeans Zara

Today was my customising day.....literally the day were I will throughly go through old clothing and place ones I no longer want in a charity bag for an amazing charity called Clothes for Charity. Today was my partners clothing clean out.....and low and behold did I see some amazing items. One being this Playboy jumper from Primark that he had never worn. After asking his permission to have and cut the jumper, I went to work.

As I was using kitchen scissors and not shearing scissors I had quite a job to do. Luckily I had a natutral guidline and was able to keep a steady hand. Now as many of you know Londons' summer has been truly unacceptable! The sun has hardly made its presence known. Due to constant changes in the temperature from high to low not high to high, this jumper is my go to. It keep me warm during the summer nights and cool throughou the day.

For anyone who is reading this and interested in customising clothes I would recommend you start of with a small project like this. It is low in costs and effective. Give it a try and dont forget to tag me in any custom designs via instagram.

Top Zara // Skirt H&M // Shoes Public Desire // Bowler Bag Zara

So today as per usual was a dinner night but, with the in laws!!! By chance my other halfs dad finally accepted the offer to take him out for a dining experience at Duck and Waffle. So I decided to go all glam for the occassion. I recently found this amazing stenciled crochet top from Zara during their sale and paired it with a long grey skirt which I have had for years and my Public Desire lace up shoes in Kalia as the lace up design contrasted amazingly well with the top.

Lipstick worn was Mac Smoked Purple and Nightmoth Liner.

Throwing Shade

Pattenerd Retro Sunglasses Boohoo // Black Retro Frameleess Sunglasses Boohoo

Forever shopping for clothes and not enough accessories is the bane of my life. So this year I decided accessories were going to be number one on my wish list.

Having a sneak peak around Boohoo I came across some amazing sunglasses and decided I would definitely be purchasing one or two. As I prefer to try on sunglasses before purchase I thought two would be enough as I do not have the ability to try before I buy and returns-well I hate returning items I love ,but just do not want to fit my body as envisioned.

I decided on some simple black glasses and brown patterned ones. As I tend to squint a lot sunglasses are a must have during the London Summer season. Although wearing them for long periods of time does give me a headache -sunnies are a staple. They are a protectants  UV rays, can reduce premature wrinkles caused by sun damage and constant squinting. They also make your outfit complete and your style mind content!

Reorganising SS15 Summer Rail

So we can definitely say summer is here and that calls for a wardrobe or in my case a rail haul. Apart from introducing SS15 clothing into my wardrobe I am also tasked with re-organising and bringing out SS14 clothing  that are still on my style list or clothing that can be styled to this seasons' must haves.

So after a long stressful day in the office I decided to re-organise my clothing rail. Removing quite a few patterns and dark opaque's from my rail and adding in soft delicate tones. I tend to colour code my clothes and also hang them on an open rail -as they are easier to access and pair to create an outfit- I use the Ikea  MULIG rail in white  its cheap, durable and contrast well with my grey muted walls.

For more storage ideas check out Ikeas' website with an array of open and closed wardrobes and rails I am sure you will find one that suits your needs.

Sunday Lunch Date

Leather Jacket H&M // Grey Dress Pretty Little Thing // Shoes Next // Sunglasses Boohoo // Gold Chain Michael Kors // Earrings and Tooth Bracelet River Island

Sunday Lunch dates with the Mr are a casual affair. Since receiving some items from Pretty Little Thing I was itching to wear them.

As we had a upmarket date at Duck and Waffle I decided to put in a little effort. It was reaching midday and there was a slight breeze so I decided to pair my dress with my trusty faux leather jacket and some comfy heels and I was ready to roll.

The sunglasses were added one because it was still really bright plus I has the most painful migrane-and keeping my eyes away from the light to dull the pain seemed ideal. I also wanted a little tipple and that would not of been able with painkillers in my system!

Hope you all like!

The Crops Day and Night Look

Black Knot Crop Top Pretty Litlte Thing // High Waisted Denim Shorts River Island (Alternative) // Shoes Next // Dark Green Mac Primark Sale (Recent)

Summer is finally here YAY! The Mr and I were invited to our friends house warming/ BBQ / drink up. I decided to wear a simple balck crop top and my high waisted shorts. This outfit was soooo simple to create and with a pair of black strappy heels (which I've had for ages) I was ready to rock and roll.

I also paired the outfit with an amazing forest green Mac I purchased from Primark for £10. For when it started getting a little chilly. And as you can see my outfit was not going to keep me warm once the sun had set-let alone the journey home.

I hope you all like

Boudoir

White Quilted Cushions  Primark // Faux Fur Cushion  House of Fraser  // Sweet Vanilla ans Coconut Scented Candle  Primark //Cotton Ball Holder Asda Direct Alternative  //Detailed Metal Box Zara Home (UK) /Faux Cream Blanket Polyvore  // Lotus

As a hard working lady I view the bedroom as my place for downtime. When I am not working (which for me is 12 hours in a public sector office) I am doing crazy magical things with my daughter or blogging/editing. So the bedroom is definitely a place of relaxation.

My go to colours are creams, whites, golds and silvers. I prefer the light and airy look rather then a dark masculine decor. I find using whites and pastels allows natural light to reflect and make room/s look more spacious without the need for mirrors-although I also use this technique to create a degree of deception. Utilising both techniques hand in hand can really make all the difference, if you are working with a small space. Luckily my partner and I have an advantage as we have inherited some amazing victorian sash windows which draws spectrum's of natural light flooding into my quaint boudoir. But for those who do not have the advantage of a natural light filled room - you can try creating the look by incorporating subtle secondary colours or white if you prefer the minimal look and reflective objects-. You will be amazed at the result.

Whilst having a little snoop around Zara Home last week I came across an amazing jewellery box. Lined in opaque velvet, with a detailed cover I was obsessed. I walked away only to return to snap it up along with some lovely white lotus candles that came in a set of three. To my amazement for the size of product the price was quite fitting and firmly placed Zara Home as a go to for home accessories.

By chance whilst looking for some unique accessories I fell across an amazing website called Parachute. Who ironically specialise in bedding, decor and for those indecisive beings they provide swatches. Designed in LA and made in Italy their products are created for a "luxurious sleep experience". Everything that I need! After reading the company’s policy and their giving back "Committed to Change" Malaria campaign nothing but nets-something very close to my heart. I decided to purchase a few items, which I have listed below.

The Venice - this set consist of 1 fitted sheet, 1 Duvet Cover and 2 Pillow cases. With a choice of two different fabrics Percale and Sateen I choose the sateen -because of my natural hair the texture of this fabric will enable me to simply pineapple my hair without having to tie a satin scarf as this pillow case resemble that a of a sateen scarf. With the choice of five colours: White, Ash, Powder (a very pale light blue), Navy and Slate. I choose White.

My next purchase was from Parachutes decor selection. I came across their Fireside Candles priced at only $12 I was enticed. They only have a maximum of two scents -Lavender and Warm Amber. Unfortunately lavender is not a favourite of mine which made my purchase an easy choice. Made in the USA, out of natural soy wax allowing an even slow burn and available in a glass vessel for home decor or in a travel tin-needed for those travel enthusiasts amongst us. I decided on the glass vessel which I think will fit in perfectly with my already existing candle collection.

I will be reviewing all purchases from parachute in a months' time along with an updated full bedroom tour.
